The iLife V5 is a new generation robotic vacuum cleaner with OBS all terrain detection system, and is controlled by advanced intelligent program.

The iLife V5 is a robotic vacuum cleaner designed to clean, dry and mop surfaces, it can’t wet mop because it doesn’t have a water tank but it can dry mop a surface. Unlike the V5 pro which came after it, this robot doesn’t have the water tank and is less powerful than the V5 pro but they are much similar in looks. When opened it has a dirt bin with a primary and a secondary filter inside, which it uses to collect all the dirt. It has dual side brushes under and a slot for the mop bracket, it also comes with a remote to help control and extra side brushes.

The bracket behind the vacuum allows you vacuum and mop at the same time, although it doesn’t have a water tank but you can spray a cleaning solution and have it dry mop the floors.

The iLife V5 can be programmed to what time it’s to begin cleaning every day, then after cleaning it automatically docks for charging. It can operate in both automatic and manual modes. In auto mode it vacuums or mops around the room by moving randomly until it’s done, while on manual mode you can use the arrows on the remote to move the robotic vacuum cleaner around the room.

The V5 supports both spot and edge cleaning mode, for spot cleaning, you move the vacuum to a specific spot that needs cleaning and then the vacuum cleaner spins around to clean that spot while edge cleaning mode the vacuum cleaner cleans along the edge of the room.

The iLife V5 is a good option for homes with bare floors but if you have carpets it is advisable to go for another robotic vacuum cleaner like the V7 or V7s.

COMPARING THE V5 AND THE V5 PRO

The V5 sound a little bit louder than the V5 pro and the V5 pro picks up more dirt during cleaning compared to the V5 because it has a capacity of 850pa. The V5 pro comes with a water tank meaning it wets the floor and mops it at the same time but the V5 doesn’t have this ability, which makes the V5 pro better at mopping.

The V5 pro is lighter and has a higher cleaning range than the V5. Aside these little difference, they are both very similar.

SUMMARY

Just for a little extra above $100 you can get the vacuum robot which is a great budget option and that is if you don’t really need the wet mopping which it doesn’t come with, then you can go for this and save a couple of bucks. Because of its shape and size, it can get under chairs and beds to clean up.

It’s easy to use, so you won’t have to crack your head around it, some parts are replaceable and affordable to get, so you don’t have a problem getting extra spare parts. It can be programmed automatically to resume cleaning at any time, plus it has an automatic self-charge when done, for people that don’t really want to get bothered controlling a vacuum manually.

It’s a really good buy except you want to level up to the iLife V5 pro, which isn’t much of a difference.
