The Samsung Galaxy O Oxygen is not out yet but leaks here and there about its features and design are all we can go by for now. It’s an upcoming flagship device rumored to be set to be released between June and July 2020.

The most glaring feature is the apparent return of the QWERTY keyboard and no, it does not have a physical keyboard.
The mechanism is such that the O Oxygen has two screens, the main screen and the second screen which can be slid back and forth underneath the main screen. This brings back nostalgic memories of earlier smartphones like the Blackberry, Nokia N810 and much newer smartphones like Fxtec Pro 1 and the Motorola Photon X. It also seems to be the successor to the Samsung Galaxy M21 released in March 2020. Before I go further, I will like to categorically say that the features I will be discussing at the writing of this article are not official features yet so they may change when the phone is finally announced and released.
It comes with the Android 9.0(pie) OS on an Octal-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 plus chipset similar to the Samsung S20 5G, the Sony Xperia 1, the Xiaomi Mi 10 and Mi 10 pro It also provides 8GB and 10GB of RAM and storage options of between 128GB and 256GB. Storage can also be increased with the option of a micro SD card slot. The phone is also protected with the Gorilla glass 7 which is found on smartphones like the Oppo F9 and F9 Pro. Another amazing feature is the water and dust proof nature of the O Oxygen. It uses the IP69 technology (a standard set forth by the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC)), which ensures the phone survives up to two hours in water 2 metres deep. Samsung Galaxy 0 Oxygen provides fingerprint recognition technology, faceID, accelerometer, gyro, proximity, compass and barometer.
The display can be described as a fully HD screen with a resolution of 1080p x 1920p comparable to the Galaxy S10.
Camera wise, this phone doesn’t disappoint at all. The main camera is predicted to have a triple camera setup (36MP + 24MP + 13MP) and the selfie camera with a resolution of 42MP. It has camera sensors with Dual LED flash lights and is capable of taking pictures in the portrait mode.
Unsurprisingly, a smartphone like this comes with an equally impressive battery life. It comes with a Li-ion 6100mAh battery. This allows you to go up to 18 hours of call time and possibly 10 hours of music play after a full charge. It also supports wireless charging and is also fitted with fast battery charging technology (quick charge 5.0+).
The Galaxy O Oxygen is equipped with a dual SIM system with both supporting GSM, 4G LTE and 3G. SIM 1 has a micro SIM card slot while the SIM 2 has a Nano SIM slot. I also suspect the dual SIM system will be a dual stand by one similar to the iPhone XS Max, the Samsung S10 and the Huawei Mate 2.0. These are in addition to the basic WLAN, Bluetooth and GPS.
Since it is not out yet, it is predicted that the Samsung Galaxy O Oxygen will probably be sold for about $670(N281, 400).
In conclusion, my beef with this smartphone (if the rumors about its design are true), is just the redundancy of the second screen that houses the virtual QWERTY keyboard. Other than that, the phone promises to give an incredible user experience.
