Samsung Galaxy On8 Price in Nigeria
Samsung Galaxy On8 Oxygen Price in Nigeria and Where to buy- The Samsung Galaxy On8 was released in October 2016 after being announced the previous month. It is part of the Galaxy On series which is a mid-range tier on Samsung Android phones and comes as a successor to the Galaxy on 7. It comes with the Android 6.0(Marshmallow) OS.

The main features include face recognition, fingerprint scanner, accelerometer, proximity, ANT+ technologies and aesthetically comes in any of white, black and gold colours. It also supports video over chat functionality, all of these features are housed in a frame measuring 151.7 x 76 x 7.8 mm. It is a bit heavy on the hands with a weight of 169g but not as heavy as its predecessor, so we can say there’s a bit of an improvement there. It is not a spectacular phone given its mid-range status but still a quite decent pocket-friendly alternative to the S series.
The processor is quite impressive to me, considering that it comes powered by the Octa-core 1.6 Ghz Cortex-A53 CPU, a processor known for its battery efficiency and the Mali-T720MP2 GPU all on the Exynos 7850 Octa chipset. The memory specifications include 4GB RAM, an improvement on its predecessor’s 1.5GB and 64GB of internal storage which can be increased to 256GB with a memory card slot.
The Galaxy On8 bears design similarities to the Galaxy On7 with its 6 inch screen the same size of the On7 while also incorporating the Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen (16M colours) which gives saturated and vivid colours on the screen with a 720p x 1480p screen resolution. The super AMOLED display with its lower resolution saves the battery significantly. The downside is that the video and graphic display is not very sharp and has a low pixel density so you may not get the best graphic quality from heavy games and in addition, streaming from sites like YouTube is limited to a maximum of 720p so you very likely won’t get full HD streaming. Another disappointing aspect is the lack of auto brightness mode on the screen which by now in my opinion should be a common smartphone feature even for the mid-range ones.
The main camera has a quality of 13 MP like its predecessor, LED flash panorama HDR 1080p @30fps and the selfie camera significantly lower in quality with 5MP and a LED flash. The main camera of the Galaxy On8 also offers features such as portrait mode, background blur and is also considerably sharp in artificial lighting conditions.
The Galaxy On8 provides slot for two Nano-SIMs. The connectivity technologies include WLAN, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS, NFC, Radio, USB, GSM, HSPA and LTE. The phone also comes with a non-removable Li-ion 3500 mAh battery that can go up to 17 hours of talk time (3G) and 82 hours of music play in a full charge although it doesn’t come with a fast charger. The price of this device as at the time of its release into the Nigerian market in late 2016 went for between 70,000 naira
