Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus Price in Nigeria and Where to buy- The Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus is a high-end “S series” Samsung smartphone released on 25th February 2018 along with the Galaxy S9. The phones were released as successors to the Galaxy S8 and S8+. The S9 Plus bears similarities to its predecessor in terms of the aspect ratio and display size. Generally, there is no significant change to the phone. There are obvious improvements such as the camera quality and expansion of the internal memory. Another noticeable change is the fingerprint sensors that were at the side of the camera in the S8+ have now been relocated to appear underneath the camera.
It comes in a solid aluminum frame which is further protected by the Corning Gorilla glass 5 at the front and the back of the phone. It is also a bit heavier than its predecessor with a body mass of 189g compared to 173g of the Galaxy S8+. The phone is also water and dust resistant, a trend started in the Samsung S5 with an IEC score of IP68. It can survive in water of a height of 1.5m for thirty minutes. It was released in various colours such as Lilac purple, midnight black, titanium gray, coral blue, sunrise gold, burgundy red and Polaris blue.
The exciting features on this device are fingerprint scanner, accelerometer, barometer, iris scanner, gyroscope, magnetometer, hall sensor, proximity sensor, heart and blood pressure sensor.
The display is a 6.2 inch, 2969p x 1440p Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen infinity display.
The Galaxy S9+ is equipped with an Exynos 9810 chipset, Exynos Octa core Kyro 385 CPU (Snapdragon in some countries) and Exynos Mali-G72 MP18 (Snapdragon Adreno 630 in some countries). It also comes with a RAM of 6GB and internal storage varying from 64GB to 128 GB to 256GB, an improvement on its predecessor’s storage options which stops at 128GB. The storage can also be expanded using a memory card of up to 400GB. The phone originally ran on the Samsung Experience 9.0 on top of the Android 8.0(Oreo) OS. It currently runs on the One UI 2.0 OS on top of the Android 10.
The camera is amazing, the rear camera is a 12MP camera which is capable of taking 4K videos while the front camera is an 8MP autofocus camera which records videos at 1440p@30fps. It also has a 2MP dedicated iris scanner camera. This front camera also supports dual video call and Auto HDR. The sound system features stereo speakers tuned by AKG and the Dolby surround sound.
The Galaxy S9+ has a 3500 mAh battery which is the same as its predecessor and supports wireless charging feature. It also offers fast charging with the Quick charge 2.0 technology. The battery has the capacity to go up to 11 hours of continuously surfing the web at 4G LTE and this fascinates me.
In the Nigerian market, particularly on Jumia and on Konga, the phone is priced at between 140,000 naira and 200,000 naira.
I will conclude by commending the work put into the camera and the processor. It is a smartphone I would highly recommend especially to heavy gamers or users with a battery reliant tasks.
