Why I Love My Iphones
Over the years, I have had multiple phones. The first phone I ever had was a Verizon Motorola flip phone, which I received in 2nd grade because I was always out with my friends and my parents wanted to make sure I had a form of communication in case something ever happened. The second phone I had was a Samsung Intensity II, which was a slide phone and I received it in 5th grade, I believe. I got my first iPhone in middle school (7th grade), and have stuck with Apple ever since. I have had an iPhone 4, iPhone 6, and now I currently have the iPhone X.
The one main reason why I love iPhones is because of the camera quality. I have always been into photography, and all of the pictures I have taken on my iPhones over the years have came out really good. Not only do I like using my phone for photography, but I also am always communicating with my friends on it. I use lots of social media apps, which tends to be my main source of communication. I communicate with friends via text messages and FaceTime, but I also communicate with them on SnapChat, Instagram, Twitter, FaceBook, and VSCO.
I love sharing my life in pictures or videos, which SnapChat is great for because you can post stories and share things with people that way. I also enjoy Instagram because people post pictures on there. The pictures posted by people that I like to follow are of themselves, their outfits, fitness videos, interior decorating videos, and artwork (photography, painting, drawing, etc.). I do follow my friends, but I also follow more well-known pages due to the content they post. I follow these people for inspiration more than anything. VSCO is one of my favourite apps because all people post is different forms of art and it is all very inspiring and aesthetically pleasing to look at. Twitter is an app I like to use to follow people with similar views to me, whether it be political or moral views. I learn a lot from the things that I read on there. Lastly, FaceBook is where I have lots of relatives and friends added on there, so it is a way for me to stay in the loop about things that are going on, and also a way to keep in touch with those whom I do not see as often.
Not only do I have social media applications, but I also have some games that I enjoy playing. I use an app called Covet Fashion, which is an app that allows me to create different outfit ideas and enter competitions with other players. On this app, players are able to vote for which outfit they like best, and the end result for the contestants is a rating on a scale of 1-5 stars. If you get at least 4 stars, you receive a prize (can be clothes, accessories, or in-app cash to spend). Another game I enjoy playing is Cooking Fever. Although this game gives me an adrenaline rush because you have to serve a certain amount of people in approximately 2 minutes, I do enjoy the game because it occupies my time when I am bored. I also enjoy cooking actual food, and although it is not anything like actual cooking, it gives me a similar satisfaction. Other games that I have are for interior decorating. I like these ones because it gives me the ability to be creative and I am able to design rooms with my own style. I tend to take some designs that I create and try to find similar things to use in my house, and it even provides a vision for what I want my future home to look like.
Personally, I feel as though my life is better off with a phone. I am very shy, but I tend to be more outgoing online. I love having a phone for many reasons, such as communication, gaining more knowledge, photography, and games. Over the years of having a phone, I have made many friends online who have similar interests to my own. Being on social media has allowed me to meet people in the same fanbases as me, and also people with the same political views, art interests, and similar style. The people that I have met are usually far away from me, making it hard to hang out with them, but some do live closer and I have been able to meet them. Despite distance, I am still able to communicate with them verbally on FaceTime.
My phone is convenient for me because it provides the ability to make plans with people in a relatively quick way. All I have to do is send a text message to one of my friends, and we are able to communicate and make plans without being in person. Due to the majority of my friends being indecisive, we can also look up things to do on our phones using the internet. This is convenient because we do not need a brochure or a computer to find things to do.
Everything can be done on my phone, which is why I love it so much. If I am out somewhere and do not know where I am going, I can use a GPS app. If I need to get in touch with someone, I have a phone with me to do so. If I need to know the time, all I have to do is look at my phone. When I am bored and want to watch a show, I can use the Netflix or Hulu app. Whenever I come across a word that I am not fond of, I am able to access a dictionary online. I am also able to get inspiration for certain things online by looking up images on Google or by using my social media apps. I can also take pictures of anything, anywhere. I do not have a high-quality camera, but my phone’s camera quality is similar enough to a professional one. Literally anything can be done on our phones, which makes them convenient for everyone.
